To Nyaa-Nyaa

While Slack grows in popularity, I would like to point out that in no way does this make the #nyaa-nyaa IRC channel irrelevant.

I feel that Slack is kind of disinviting to wanderers and people who just want to check in every now and then, since many people would end up asking themselves, "What's the point of trying to get into a whole new chat platform when I already have IRC?" I agree, IRC is already widely used by a lot of people, and I think I can safely say that most people who do end up participating in future events might already know how to use IRC and not even bother wanting to go through the trouble of setting up Slack, however easy or hard it is. IRC is just already there.

With that, I just want to say that I'm doing my best to keep IRC clean and on standby until we do get popular.

If we ever do get popular.

...That's a really big if, isn't it?

If you'd like to join us on IRC for idling shenanigans, we're on Rizon.

I came across a nice little utility I wanted to integrate into our Slack to help with community growth.

As I was browsing other sites I saw their communities discussing options on chat, most of them talk about Skype, Slack, and IRC.

As our Slack turns 1 year old and reaching more than 400k messages, I still strongly believe in the future of our communication to be moved to this new protocol.

As such, we now have a easy to use register for our Slack on our homepage.

Edit: There was no bug, I was just silly.

Hello again to our regular band of misfits and welcome to those misfortunate enough to have stumbled upon us.

The planets have aligned. The heavens wait with bated breath. The vastness of the cosmos is pitched to rebel against causality and the very fabric of reality itself.

Yes. That's right. Do not adjust your box. For the first time in well over a year we are returning with a real, honest-to-god stream!

This Saturday, May 16th, our long time contributor Pandara will be streaming the entirety of Durarara!!x2 Shou; the sequel to the hit anime based in the district of Ikebukuro. The episodes will begin at 21:20 GMT, or 16:20 EDT for our American friends, with the stream going live a short time before. As always, the stream chat will be hosted on our main channel, #nyaa-nyaa on irc.rizon.net.

As some of you may know, this signals a momentous day in the continuing saga of our disfunctional community. Fingers crossed this provides the catalyst to kickstart a regular streaming schedule. A lot has changed in the three years since we so naively began, let's hope this can be the start of a bright future for Nyaa-Nyaa.

We look forward to seeing you then!

Hello everyone,

It's been almost three years since we started all of this. Our last website lost all progress due to unpaid dues to the hosting, whoops.

On the bright side this time our website is being built with content in mind, since we just want it to be as easy as possible to begin populating the website with more useful features, content, and streams. Look forward to more activity coming our way!
