While Slack grows in popularity, I would like to point out that in no way does this make the #nyaa-nyaa IRC channel irrelevant.
I feel that Slack is kind of disinviting to wanderers and people who just want to check in every now and then, since many people would end up asking themselves, "What's the point of trying to get into a whole new chat platform when I already have IRC?" I agree, IRC is already widely used by a lot of people, and I think I can safely say that most people who do end up participating in future events might already know how to use IRC and not even bother wanting to go through the trouble of setting up Slack, however easy or hard it is. IRC is just already there.
With that, I just want to say that I'm doing my best to keep IRC clean and on standby until we do get popular.
If we ever do get popular.
...That's a really big if, isn't it?
If you'd like to join us on IRC for idling shenanigans, we're on Rizon.
